Jonny Hector was born 1964 in Malmö, Sweden. He has for many years been married to his Danish wife and been living in Elsinore, Denmark.
Sympatic Jonny became Grand Master in 1991. He is well known for his playing style which involves a lot of gambits, this provide him with a lot of spectacular wins. Furthermore he fights hard in each game an only draws when the kings are left alone on the board!

Vladimir Georgiev was born 1975 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Han has among other places lived in Macedonia, which he represents, found his way back to Sofia, where he lives today.
Vladko became Grand Master in 2000 but is probably most famous for being coach for Antoaneta Stefanova, when she became female World Champion in 2004. The week before he participates in Mind Games in Odense. In Copenhagen he will most likely feel at home since he during the tournament is going to stay at his sisters place.

Henrik Danielsen was born 1966 at Falster, Denmark. Han has experienced chess adventures in Greenland, Namibia and many other places. Iceland is the country he represents and where he also is living.
Henrik became Grand Master during Danish Championships in 1997. He is a very active tournament player and this will be his third tournament on a month in Denmark. He offers training for a low price at his website: trainlikeagrandmaster.com

Gregory Shahade was born 1978 in USA. He is from a chess family, his father is a FM and his sister a WGM
Greg has made one GM-norm back in 2001. He has founded the U.S.Chess League, which has the well known formats from the American leagues in e.g. basketball and ice hockey

Andreas Skytte Hagen was born 1981 in Århus, Denmark. He is the danish player, who has made the biggest progress during the last couple of years.
Andreas made a GM-norm in Copenhagen Chess Challenge played at Tapeten in 2011. His opponents can be certain that their draw offer, not will be accepted! His goal is the Grand Master-title in 2012.

Mads Andersen was born 1995 in Skanderborg, Denmark. He is the currently the most promising Danish talent.
Mads became International Master in 2011. He fulfilled the requirements at the age of 15th, which is earliest ever by a Dane. This year, he has shown great form both in the Danish league and the Bundesliga. His first GM-norm are soon to come!

Thorbjørn Bromann is born in 1979 in Asnæs, Denmark. He has shown great progress the last year and are now rated above 2400 again.
The coach of the Danish national female team became International Master in 2007. Thorbjørn has performed a lot of impressive single results, a lot of these in Iceland, where he in 2010 sensationally had a sole lead in Reykjavik Open with 4/4.

Nikolaj Mikkelsen was born 1988 in Gladsaxe, Denmark. He is winner of Brønshøj Lang Weekend 2012 and Copenhagen champion from 2011.
Nikolaj became International Master in 2008 and made his debut at the Danish Olympic team in 2010. He has recently changed to the ambitious club Philidor with the personal goal of becoming a Grand Master.

Jakob Aabling-Thomsen was born 1985 in Roskilde, Denmark. He is the most promising player in Brønshøj Skakforening.
Aabling has specialized in winning brilliancy prizes. His dangerous playing style has so far destroyed two +2600-Grand Masters. His opponents in this tournament can with good reason, except to be shown a tactical lesson.

Jacob Carstensen was born 1977 in Kalundborg, Danmark. He is co-organiser of the tournament, and has stepped in as a last minute reserve.
Jacob has one IM-norm from Reykjavik Open 2011. During the summer of 2011 he passed 2400 in FIDE-ELO, and is thereby close to the IM-title. Now his FIDE-ELO is a lot lower, but at the Danish Championschips he played well.
